The market has held up reasonably well following last week’s flash crash; Bitcoin hovers above $105k while Ethereum is around $4k.
Despite this, sentiment hasn’t been great, and the reason is likely the altcoin positions held by your average Joe not holding up as well as BTC:
This week’s attention has turned to the whopping $25m Coinbase has spent on a crypto podcast “UpOnly”.
The hosts (Ledger & Cobie) had numerous discussions with notorious crypto characters that became pivotal in various scandals last time round.
But this acquisition was part of a larger M&A deal that sees Coinbase acquire Cobie’s Private Investment platform “Echo” for a whopping $375m.
A combined $400m acquisition for both entities; it’s Crypto M&A season!
Will we see an UpOnly response by the market?
AI Roundup
Decentralized AI (“DeAI”) ‘Crypto Twitter’ mindshare has fallen the sharpest this week; declining by 5% to 29%:
My view is that this is a temporary blip while crypto participants pivot their attention to other shiny objects in the ecosystem.
The thesis remains unchanged; AI is the most disruptive tech of our time and combined with crypto provides insane opportunity for permissionless, autonomous machine.
So I do believe that “Defi for AI Agents is the next thing”… then Robotics:
DeAI Market Cap
Capital has temporarily followed the same trajectory as attention, with the overall DeAI market cap declining by $3bn (-12%%) to $26bn; the market continues to tackle the cascading liquidations in the alt market following last week’s flash crash:
Despite the overall decline, TAO continues to outperform the DeAI competition off the back of several announcements:
Grayscale DeAI fund opens; TAO leading with 33.5% of its holdings. Institutional interest continues to ramp up into this ecosystem specifically
Opentensor (Bittensor) subnet registration is back with a 128 cap, meaning darwinian evolution of its underlying ecosystem; if you don’t compete you’ll be replaced
TAOSynergies (NASDAQ: TAOX) secures $11m strategic investment. Venture + Private funding is flowing into the TAO ecosystem.
Bittensor’s first halving is scheduled for December 11-12, 2025, reducing daily TAO emissions from 7,200 to 3,600 tokens; a 50% cut designed to enhance scarcity.
This is a great article from Sami Kassab on the TAO halving for those wanting more info - Link
Robotics Market Cap
The Robotics segment is down another $43m (-10%) to $376m:
Again, capital appears to be consolidating into the leader within this segment (Peaq), similar to how DeAI’s leader TAO is garnering the bulk of the attention + capital.
The main driver for this is that Dubai’s official virtual asset regulator varadubai formally recognizes peaq’s Machine Economy Free Zone in the Emirates.
Rice AI also sees a positive performance this week (considering market conditions) as it goes live in the Peaq ecosystem with Machinedex; is a rising tide lifting all boats in the Peaq ecosystem?
The Crypto Robotics market cap feels undervalued at < $400m, and we haven’t seen the blow off euphoria we saw with DeAI in Q4 last year:
Weekly Crypto AI Agent Analysis
a) Nansen Capital Flow Analysis
Smart capital net inflows continue on a selection of AI coins:
ROOM (Backroom) is the standout performer this week on smart capital inflows ($35k) and general inflows of $350k
The driver? They partnered with Aerodrome for the first Internet Capital Market (ICM) incubator launchpad on base
b) Cookie Mindshare Analysis
The standout performer from the top 10 by mindshare is TIBBIR (+85%).
This is an interesting token as its premise is based on something that is yet to be confirmed; its tied to Ribbit Capital.
Altcoinist has put together a very convincing argument with reasonable connections to this:
For more information on Ribbit Capital and its tokenization thesis I’d recommend reading “Token Letter (2025)”.
But this begs the question;
Will this become a sell the news event?
Or will this explode further once confirmation has been made?
