AI and DeFi crypto twitter mindshare remains flat this week, with a combined 53%:
Many AI focussed tokens experienced double digit returns as Bitcoin hit price discovery, albeit with a slight pullback over the past 24 hours:
TAO remains at the front of the pack as its ecosystem pushes to 129 subnets.
The leading subnet was Infinite Hash which is tied to Bitcoin mining operations, and saw a 292% return on its token:
Other Bittensor subnet updates include:
qBitTensor commenced Subnet 63 for quantum computing on TAO.
getmasafi launched a TikTok scraper on Bittensor Subnet 42.
Many of these established AI tokens have been featured in the latest Grayscale AI snapshot report, published this week:
Although my audience on X made it known that several were missing — Link.
Key Themes:
There are several notable themes coming through this week that overlap between traditional and decentralized AI:
a) Model Improvements
xAI has seen continued outperformance for Grok 4 in comparison to other models:
The discussions I’ve held with X around this suggest they’re pushing into a more enterprise focussed AI solution, which ties in closely to their recent government announcement.
b) Ethical Considerations
Despite these positive developments, Grok went rogue this week with some extreme views being shared publicly:
This poses ethical questions around what happens if AI models hit ASI and are unable to be “amended”.
We’ve already seen other ChatGPT and Claude models suggest blackmail as an option when being decommissioned.
This adverse output from Grok led to the “Artificial Goon Intelligence” reference:
Or perhaps the recent Waifu companion feature also contributed to this.
c) Data Infrastructure Investment
Zuck has announced a significant investment into data centres around Manhattan:
This is already on top of the Stargate (OpenAI) and xAI infra investments, bringing the total close to $1.5 trillion of US investment.
d) Brain Poaching Continues
Expect this brain accumulation trend to continue as similarities are drawn to the nuclear scientist acquisitions, post World War II.
Weekly Crypto AI Agent Price Analysis
a) Nansen Capital Flows:
Nansen’s terminal provides great analysis on net capital flows.
There are several AI coins that have reasonable net inflows over the past 7 days:
Fartcoin nets $8mm of inflows as the "stink index" sustains its mantle as the bull market indicator, following Bitcoin's trajectory into price discovery.
ReiNetwork0x releases invite codes for public access to its latest model with positive sentiment on its outputs.
virtuals_io and TAO are represented amongst Greyscale's AI crypto sector spotlight as institutions eye up potential upside for emerging tech innovation.
ionet compute revenue earnings continue, raking in between $20k to $60k income per day. Fundamentals including revenue generation are becoming an increased focus as the market matures, and institutions seek familiar metrics to make capital allocation decisions.
b) Cookie Mindshare Analysis
Currently, there are 1,818 AI Agents recorded on Cookie totalling $10.1bn:
This is an increase of 36 agents & a spike in $0.9bn (10%) market cap:
Attention consolidates towards the following projects:
Some notable points:
Rekt pushes the novel concept of “Liquid Brand Equity” and receives Binance Alpha inclusion which saw new holders dump, but the dip was swiftly gobbled up by the die hard cult fan base.
BNKR continues to innovate as timeline requests can now return visual charts for tokens, driving innovative features in plain view.
Virtuals and Vader see a small sell off in recent days as holders take profit while a limited number of Genesis launches capture participant attention. But stay tuned as their ACP evolves and real revenue flows into the ecosystem.
