Decentralized AI (“DeAI”) ‘Crypto Twitter’ mindshare has declined 2% to 27%, as a ‘standalone’ segment this week:
However, attention around x402 has spiked 15x this week:
This protocol allows agents to make micropayments autonomously; so arguably you’d batch the two segments under the same AI banner.

The reason people are so hyped about it is that it is the missing piece of the puzzle that will enable AI Agents to carry out tasks fully autonomously online (and eventually in the real world - but I’ll touch on this in the Robotics segment).

The overall DeAI market cap is up by $1.9bn (+7%%) to $28bn:
The standout performers this week continue to be TAO, as well as Virtuals:
Virtuals is rallying off the back of the x402 “agentic micropayments” narrative. which is nothing new. But it provides the missing link to agents operating fully autonomously, and Virtuals ‘Agent to Agent’ payments are on the rise:
Virtuals is the leading agentic launchpad on Base, and with Coinbase creating x402 it puts itself in a strong position to capitalize on any value accrual
TAO continues to see token value accrual following the institutional interest highlighted over the past few weeks
Robotics Market Cap
The Robotics segment is up $34m (9%) to $410m:
Qace Dynamics is “The Plug-and-Play Intelligence Layer for Robots”; It announced $400k had been earmarked for token buybacks.
Codec Flow: Wrote a viral explainer on x402 and highlighted micropayments for robots
Robotics will also capitalize on the benefits from x402 as physical AI will eventually be able to make payments and participate in real life commerce by scanning a virtual card; this is where Neo banks and stablecoin infrastructure will be invaluable.
Obvious examples of this would be Plasma One (XPL) or Tria virtual cards, which also accumulate crypto cash back rewards.
